A Dancer's Dream

Costume Designer

A Dancer’s Dream was a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of Stravinsky’s ballets “The Fairy’s Kiss” and “Petrushka”. Combining ballet, puppetry, video, live action and audience participation, a Dancer’s Dream conjured a fantastical dream world where a passionate ballerina gets caught up in a blizzard, dodges jugglers, and spars with puppets. The production aimed to break down the formalities of traditional concert experiences and invent a new form of orchestral environment – ballet dancers become puppets, orchestra members perform burlesque and play Russian villagers, opera singers have silent roles, and the conductor portrayed the Magician.
