Offenbach!!!

Costume Designer

An evening featuring three of Offenbach’s most zany operettas: Les Deux Aveugles,  Ba-Ta-Clan and L’ile de Tulipatan. Les Deux Aveugles introduces the audience to an evening where things are not as they seem. In it, two con-men pretend to be blind in order to be more prosperous beggars. In Ba-Ta-Clan, several French citizens are disguised as desperate Chinese royalty in a fictional revolt; and in L’ile de Tulipatan, a son and a daughter are brought up as a daughter and a son, respectively, in order to be steered from the harshness of reality.  Each of these pieces calls for the exploration of fun and novelty – a circus of fabulous sights and sounds that are made to spin the senses into a childlike giddy.
