Don Juan in Prague

Costume Designer

Don Juan in Prague was a radically re-conceptualized version of Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, remixed as a digital media extravaganza and starring the renowned avant-garde Moravian singer, actress, and violinist Iva Bittová as a passionate Donna Elvira.  The production remained true to Mozart’s music and to the libretto by da Ponte, telling the saga of a hapless Don ultimately condemned to hell for his unrepentant philandering. It took on a resonant modernity through digital additions to the shimmering score along with the ingenious incorporation of video, provocative set and extravagant costumes.
